Types of Appointments
Academic Advising
Work with an advisor to plan your classes, choose your major, and stay on track toward graduation.
Behavior Health and Counseling
Access free, confidential counseling to support your mental health and well-being. Counselors can help with immediate needs, personal or social problems, and adjusting to a new environment. Come in person or call the Counseling department at (928) 428-8253.
Disability Accommodations
Meet with Disability Resource Services to arrange academic accommodations and ensure equal access to learning.

- Are there any prerequisite courses or placement tests I should plan to take for my area of study?
Yes. Every student must either have eligible placement scores or a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher within the last five years to take general education courses.
- What courses do you recommend for next semester?
Your next best step is to meet with an academic advisor, who will review your degree plan and recommend courses to keep you on track.
- If I want to graduate by a certain date, what’s the best plan for me to get there?
Follow your degree’s curriculum guide and check in with your academic advisor regularly to make sure you’re staying on schedule.
- What is considered an elective credit?
An elective credit is a course you choose based on your interests. It counts towards your degree’s elective requirements, but is not specifically required for your major or general education.

- What is the academic calendar, and how do I access it?
The academic calendar includes:
- Start and end dates for each semester or term
- Registration deadlines
- Add/drop periods
- Holidays and breaks
- Final exam schedules

- Which courses are most challenging, and what resources are available to help me succeed?
Course difficulty varies, but support is always available. EA offers free tutoring, study groups, and academic resources through the Tutoring Center and Library Resources.
- What area of study should I choose if I’m undecided?
Starting with General Education courses is a smart option. They apply to most majors and give you time to explore your interests.
- Can I change my area of study, and if so, how?
You can change your area of study through your MyEAC student portal.
- Are there any assessment tests to help figure out my major or career goals?
You can use Occupational Insight, available on your MyEAC student portal, to explore careers and align them with your academic path.
- How can I align my course selection with my career aspirations?
Use Occupational Insight in your MyEAC student portal to see how your courses connect with career options. You can also talk with an advisor for additional guidance.
- Can you explain the academic probation policy and how to avoid it?
Details are outlined in the Academic Regulations section in the EA catalog. Staying above the minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 and meeting course standards will keep you in good standing.
- What are the repercussions of not meeting the minimum GPA requirement?
This is also covered in the online EA Catalog in ‘Academic Regulations’ under ‘Policy’. Consequences may include academic probation or other restrictions.
- How do transfer credits from other institutions affect my degree plan?
Always have official transcripts from other institutions sent directly to EA. An Evaluation Tech will review how your credits apply to your degree.

- What is the policy for repeating courses, and how does it impact my transcript?

- What are the university requirements for making satisfactory academic progress?
Each transfer university has its own academic progress requirements. Check directly with the institution you plan to attend.
- How can I ensure I am on track to graduate on time?
Meet with an academic advisor to confirm your degree plan and graduation requirements.
- Can you help me map out a timeline for my remaining semesters?
Your advisor can help you build a semester-by-semester plan, so you reach graduation on time.
- What are the potential consequences of switching my area of study late in my academic career?
Changing your area of study late may delay your graduation. An advisor can help you understand the impact on your plan.
- What are the requirements for an honors distinction at graduation?
Honors, High Honors, and Highest Honors are for students with exemplary marks. Please refer to the catalog.

Visit the Career Services Center located upstairs in the library. They offer job search resources, career advising, and support for students continuing their education.

I picked EA because I wanted a small-town school that wasn’t in a big city with a lot of people. It is very welcoming, and there are a lot of fun activities to get to know your peers.
