Yes. Every student must either have elgible placement scores or a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher within the last five years to take general education courses.
Your best next step is to meet with an academic advisor, who will review your degree plan and recommend courses that keep you on track.
Follow your degree’s curriculum guide and check in with your academic advisor regularly to make sure you’re staying on schedule.
An elective credit is a course you choose based on your interests. It counts towards the elective requirements of your degree but is not specifically required for your major or general education.

Course difficulty varies, but support is always available. EA offers free tutoring, study groups, and academic resources through the Tutoring Center and Library Resources.
Starting with General Education courses is a smart option. They apply to most majors and give you time to explore your interests.
Yes. You can change your area of study through your MyEAC student portal.
Yes. You can use Occupational Insight, available on your student portal, to explore careers and align them with your academic path.
Use Occupational Insight in your student portal to see how your courses connect with career options. You can also talk with an advisor for additional guidance.
Details are outlined in the Academic Regulations section in the EA catalog. Staying above the minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 and meeting course standards will keep you in good standing.

Always have official transcripts from other institutions sent directly to EA. An Evaluation Tech will review how your credits apply to your degree.
