Psychology

At Eastern Arizona College, our Psychology Program is designed to empower you with real-world skills, opening doors to opportunities and savings as you begin your academic journey.

Psychology concentrates on the scientific study of the mind and behavior. Our program will provide you with a solid background in the principles and techniques necessary for enhancing work in other social science fields: business, law enforcement, and health professions, to name a few.

Start the first two years of your education journey here at EA for a fraction of the cost of a traditional university. Then, after completing your associate’s here, you can transfer with junior status to an Arizona Public University and most other universities.

Program Highlights

EA’s program sets you on the right academic path to achieve your goals in becoming a psychology professional. Taught by attentive faculty invested in their students’ success, students learn to interpret evidence-based information, analyze individual, social, and cultural issues, describe psychological principles that can change our lives, organizations, and communities in positive ways, and much more. All in an engaging learning environment enriched by robust student support services. You’ll have access to personalized academic advising, free tutoring, and opportunities for mentoring, so you’ll always have guidance and resources to help you succeed.

Additionally, the Associate of Arts in Psychology offered at EA has four tracks to choose from, each designed to support specific interests and career goals:

General: Build a foundation for psychology careers or graduate study.

Foreign Language: Prepare for multicultural counseling and serving diverse populations.

Social Work: Get ready for entry into social services or further study in social work fields.

Northern Arizona University Bachelor (NAU) of Social Work 75/45 Transfer Pathway: Seamlessly transfer to NAU to pursue a bachelor’s in social work.

These offerings provide a personalized, flexible path to a rewarding career.

Start Here, Transfer There

Our Associate of Arts in Psychology meets the requirements for the first two years of a four-year bachelor’s degree at four-year institutions like Arizona State University and NAU. You can transfer with junior status after building a strong academic foundation in small classes offered at an affordable tuition cost. You are encouraged to work closely with an academic adviser and consult the official transfer guide to ensure you are on the correct course to maximize course transferability.
