Policy

Mailing Address

Do not use dorm or building addresses for any mail or packages. Mail sent to those addresses may be returned to the sender or destroyed.

Use the following mailing format:

Students

Eastern Arizona College

First and Last Name

615 N Stadium Ave

Thatcher, AZ 85552

Faculty and Staff

Eastern Arizona College

First and Last Name

Department

615 N Stadium Ave

Interdepartmental mail

Do not send interdepartmental mail with just a name; the department name is also required. Please separate and flag inter-departmental mail. This identification prevents campus mail from being charged postage.

Identification

Be prepared to show your photo ID when picking up mail or packages. Names on mail/packages must match your photo ID. If ordering under someone else’s account, ensure your name appears on the label.

If someone else is picking up on your behalf (e.g., a work-study student), they must bring your key or proof of prior authorization and their photo ID.

Perishables & Special Handling

The mailroom is not responsible for the spoilage of perishable items. You must pick up perishable items received by the mailroom within five days. After five days, perishables will be destroyed.

Students

If you are ordering medication that requires refrigeration, please speak to the mailroom staff. We will make arrangements to accommodate your needs.

Faculty and Staff

Departments must notify the mailroom by phone or email for packages that are hazardous, require refrigeration/freezing, or require special attention.

Mail Check & Retention

All users are to check their mail at least once every two weeks during the academic year. Any mail or packages left unclaimed for more than 30 days will be returned to the sender or recycled at the mailroom’s discretion.

Leaving EAC

If you are permanently leaving Eastern Arizona College (EAC), please inform the mailroom before your departure. You are responsible for notifying your contacts and service providers of your new mailing address.

Faculty and staff who received a mailbox key when hired must return the key when they leave the college.

Summer Hold

For students who plan to return after summer break, the mailroom can hold your mail and packages over the summer, provided arrangements are made in advance. If you do not return as expected and have not made arrangements, your mail will be returned or recycled after 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I send DoorDash, Walmart, or Uber Eats deliveries to the mailroom?

No. The mailroom does not handle deliveries from food or personal delivery services. Use your dorm address for those services.

Why can’t I use my dorm address for mail?

Dorms are secure facilities without mailboxes. The mailroom provides free mail services for campus residents who register properly.

When is Mail Ready to be Picked Up?

Mail delivery varies by carrier. Average arrival times are as follows:

  • USPS: 10 am -10:30 am
  • UPS: 11 am – 4 pm
  • FedEx: 10 am – 4 pm

Allow 30–60 minutes after delivery for sorting.

Do I need to register every semester?

No, but keep your information up to date and check your mail regularly.

How do I pick up my mail?

Mail is held in the mailroom or lockers in Student Services. Please bring your photo ID if you are picking mail up at the window, and we will scan it to process your mail.

If stored in a locker, you will receive a code. Wait for an email or text from EAC Mailroom (mailroom@eac.edu) — not just the carrier.

Can I Send Packages from the mailroom?

Yes! As long as your package has a pre-paid UPS or FedEx label.

What if I have already left campus?

If you notify us in advance, we can hold or forward certain items:

  1. If a student contacts us before the piece is received, the mailroom can hold the piece for pickup in person or store it in a locker.
  2. If prior arrangements have not been made, the mailroom reserves the right to return the piece to the original sender.
  3. The mailroom can forward 1st class letters. If a package has not been returned and cannot be forwarded, the student can pay to have it sent to the correct address. But only if shipping is paid for within five days. Without proof of payment, packages are returned to the sender.

What mail won’t be forwarded?

  • Magazines (recycled)
  • Junk/Non-profit mail (recycled)

Are mailroom services open on holidays?

Mailroom hours follow the schedule of the Student Services building.
