Graduation Requirements
Graduation requirements vary depending on your chosen degree or certificate program. Please refer to the EAC Academic Catalog for detailed information on the following:
- Degrees: Requirements for Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Business (ABus), Associate of Science (AS), Associate of General Studies (AGS), and Associate of Applied Science (AAS).
- Certificates: EAC offers a variety of certificates designed to prepare students for entry-level positions or licensure exams.
- Electives: Students pursuing transfer degrees must select electives from the Arizona Higher Education Course Equivalency Guide.
- Continuous Enrollment: If you have maintained continuous enrollment, you can graduate according to the catalog in effect when you first enrolled or any subsequent catalog in effect during your continuous enrollment period.
- Licensure: Some EAC programs qualify you to take licensure exams. Make sure to review any potential licensure requirements before completing your program.

Cap & Gown Ordering
Graduation is right around the corner, and it’s time to place your order for caps and gowns. There are two ways to place an order:
- In-Person: The Jostens Representative will be on the Thatcher Campus in the Student Services Building
- Online: Visit Jostens Online Store to shop for your graduation attire.
Please note that all spring orders must be paid in full at the time of ordering. Your order will be delivered to EAC prior to graduation.
Graduation Honors
Students who have completed at least 30 credits at EAC and meet the following GPA requirements will be eligible for graduation honors:
- Highest Honors: 4.0 GPA
- High Honors: 3.75 GPA
- Honors: 3.50 GPA
Commencement Participation
To participate in commencement, you must submit your graduation petition by March 1st. You must also be within seven credits of completing your degree or certificate by May. Work with the Admissions and Registration office to ensure all your requirements are met.

- Graduation Petition Deadline: March 1st
- Cap & Gown Ordering: Date TBD (In-Person at EAC and Online options available)
- Commencement Ceremony: May 9, 2025 at 7:30 p.m.

Q: What if I’m missing a few credits to complete my degree?
You may still be eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony if you are within seven credits of completing your degree and are enrolled in courses that will fulfill the remaining requirements.
Q: Can I apply for graduation if I haven’t completed all my courses yet?
You can apply if you’re on track to finish your degree or certificate by May. Be sure to consult with your academic advisor to verify you meet all the requirements.
