Will I need a private education loan?

Eastern Arizona College has one of the lowest tuition costs in the state, and most of our students leave with little to no debt. We feel a student should not be burdened with additional debt for their education. Although you don’t have to apply for federal financial aid before applying for a private loan, you should consider it the first option. Private loans can carry interest rates and fees. These loans are based on your credit rating and debt-to-income ratio (not financial need) and can sometimes require a co-signer. We encourage students to carefully compare the terms of a few private loans before considering which one best meets their particular needs.

Loan Self-Certification Information

EAC asks that you first complete the current year FAFSA® Application prior to inquiring or accepting a private loan. By using our Cost Calculator, you will be able to get an idea of how much financial aid you could be eligible for prior to applying for a private educational loan. Private loans are offered by a variety of lenders and carry a range of terms and conditions based on your credit. Students are encouraged to carefully compare the terms before considering which one best meets their particular needs.
