Guest pianist Dr. Fanya Lin to visit Eastern Arizona College for free recital, masterclass, and presentation

Eastern Arizona College will welcome internationally acclaimed pianist Dr. Fanya Lin Feb. 9-10 as a guest of Dr. Greta Pasztor, associate professor of music at EA. All events are free and open to the public.

Lin is an associate professor of practice in piano at the University of Arizona School of Music and a recognized Steinway Artist. She has earned acclaim around the world as a “striking interpreter” who gives “committed and heartfelt” performances, according to Musical America and The New York Times. Her performances with orchestras and in solo recitals have been featured in prestigious venues and concert series globally.

Her concerto album Rhapsodic — featuring Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with Maestro Theodore Kuchar and the Lublin Philharmonic — was released on Navona Records in 2023 and received critical recognition.

Lin also engages audiences through innovative programming and outreach, and she teaches applied piano, chamber music, piano literature, and a yoga for musicians course at the University of Arizona.

The visit to Eastern Arizona College begins with a solo piano recital titled “Metamorphosis” at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in the Lee Little Theater.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, Lin will lead a piano masterclass from 9-11 a.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium, followed by a presentation with a question-and-answer session from 1-2 p.m. in SC-1A.
