Eastern Arizona College Partners with Freeport-McMoRan and Empire Southwest to Develop Diesel Technician Program

Eastern Arizona College (EAC) is proud to partner with industry leaders Freeport-McMoRan and Empire Southwest in the development of a comprehensive Diesel Technician Program set to begin for the Fall 2024 Semester. This collaborative effort underscores EAC’s commitment to meeting industry needs by providing students with specialized training tailored to the demands of the modern workforce.

The Diesel Technician Program at EAC is designed in close consultation with Freeport-McMoRan and Empire Southwest, ensuring that the curriculum aligns precisely with the requirements of the diesel systems industry. Leveraging the expertise and insights of these partners, EAC aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their careers as diesel technicians.

Additionally, students will benefit from internship and apprenticeship opportunities, gaining invaluable hands-on experience under the guidance of industry professionals.

In addition to hands-on training, students will receive mentorship and guidance from instructors who are experts in the field of diesel technology. EAC is currently in the process of hiring a qualified instructor who will lead the program and ensure that students receive the highest quality education.
