Eastern Arizona College Fine Arts Division unveils five end-of-semester performances

Eastern Arizona College’s Fine Arts Division invites the community to a spectacular lineup of performances this spring, featuring student talent across theatre, vocal, instrumental, and jazz programs. With five unique events from April 25 to May 5, the season offers something for every audience—ranging from whimsical storytelling to toe-tapping jazz and imaginative choral works.

Spring Sing 2025: Wonder

Friday, April 25 at 7 p.m. & Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m.

Presented by EAC’s Department of Music and produced by EAC’s new director of fine arts, Dr. Gideon Burrows, this year’s Spring Sing is themed Wonder—a musical journey celebrating curiosity, imagination, and the magic of storytelling. Featuring student vocalists and ensembles, Wonder promises to delight audiences of all ages with rich harmonies and awe-inspiring visuals.

EAC Wind Ensemble Concert

Under the baton of EAC director of bands Geoff DeSpain, the Wind Ensemble will perform a powerful evening of music featuring a variety of instrumental selections. The concert promises to be a thrilling celebration of the energy and precision of wind band repertoire.

The Search for Delicious

May 1–3, 2025
SC-3 Black Box Theater | $5 Admission

Presented by Eastern Arizona College’s Repertory Acting Company, The Search for Delicious is a fully student-led production, cast, directed, and produced entirely by the members of the Rep Theatre class under the mentorship of EAC theatre director, Jeff Skiba. Performed in the intimate SC-3 Black Box Theater, the show offers a close-up, immersive experience for audiences. This family-friendly stage adaptation of Natalie Babbitt’s beloved novel follows 12-year-old Gaylen and his loyal horse Marrow on a quest to define the word “delicious” and prevent civil war in a mythical kingdom. With enchanted characters, comic misadventures, and a PG rating for mild fantasy violence, this magical tale is filled with laughter and heart.

Symphony Orchestra Concert: Fairy Tales & Other Stories

Conducted by EAC director of orchestras, Franklin Alvarez, this enchanting concert brings to life music inspired by classic stories and fairy tales. Featuring imaginative orchestral works, Fairy Tales & Other Stories promises a magical evening of storytelling through sound.

Monday, May 5, 2025 | 7 p.m.
Lee Little Theater | Free Admission

Directed by “Uncle Gary” Sorensen, EAC’s Community Jazz Ensemble invites audiences to a heartwarming and swing-filled evening inspired by the comforting charm of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. The concert opens with a cool jazz rendition of Won’t You Be My Neighbor, and throughout the evening, Sorensen weaves in personal commentary and reflections reminiscent of the beloved TV host. With a program full of tight charts and musical variety, The Music of Our Neighborhood promises to be a unique and uplifting jazz experience.
