Country music legends The Gatlin Brothers bring farewell tour to EAC

THATCHER, Ariz. — Eastern Arizona College will welcome Grammy Award-winning country music legends The Gatlin Brothers to the Fine Arts Auditorium at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, as part of the trio’s Farewell Celebration Tour.

Brothers Larry, Steve and Rudy Gatlin have entertained audiences with their distinctive family harmonies for more than seven decades. The concert will feature many of the songs that made them one of country music’s most celebrated vocal groups, including “All the Gold in California,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You),” “Broken Lady,” “I Don’t Wanna Cry” and “Night Time Magic.”

Their appearance at EAC offers local audiences an opportunity to experience their unmistakable harmonies and classic songs as they celebrate their remarkable career.

The brothers began singing together in Abilene, Texas, in 1955, when Larry was 7, Steve was 4, and Rudy was 2. After building their early careers in gospel music, they became country music stars during the 1970s and ’80s.

Their career includes seven No. 1 singles, 32 Top 40 records and a Grammy Award for “Broken Lady.” They also earned Academy of Country Music awards for single of the year for “All the Gold in California” and album of the year for Straight Ahead. The brothers have performed at Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, the Ryman Auditorium, the Grand Ole Opry and the White House.

Earlier this year, the Gatlin Brothers celebrated their 70th anniversary with a star-studded tribute at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. Their appearance at EAC offers local audiences an opportunity to experience their unmistakable harmonies and classic songs as they celebrate their remarkable career.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the EAC Fine Arts Auditorium, 390 N. Stadium Ave. in Thatcher. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The performance is open to all ages, and parking is free.

Tickets begin at $39 and are available through EAC’s Eventbrite page at www.eac.edu. All ticket sales are final.
