The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and Eastern Arizona College (EAC) are pleased to continue a funding opportunity for students pursuing careers in health care. With $1.4 million in scholarships available, this initiative aims to support students in health care fields by covering essential costs associated with their education. These scholarships are intended to help students acquire the skills necessary to work in home- or community-based behavioral health care or long-term care professions.

Apply Now! The summer application period opens on June 10, 2024, with a deadline to apply by July 1, 2024. Interested students can apply online at www.eac.edu/ahcccs. Scholarships will help cover the following costs: tuition and fees, books and supplies, technical equipment such as laptops and calculators, travel expenses, and additional student expenses.

To be considered for the scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or alien admitted as a refugee.
  • Be enrolled at Eastern Arizona College.
  • Commit to working for a home- and community-based service behavioral health or long-term care provider organization.
  • Declare a major in an eligible credit or non-credit degree or certificate program.

Students who have previously received funding or have applied for the fall or spring semesters do not need to reapply for the summer semester. Scholarships will also be available for the Fall 2024 semester. For questions about these scholarships, please contact EAC’s Financial Aid Department by emailing finaid@eac.edu or calling (928) 428-8287.
