Our dedicated faculty equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for careers involving unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) at a fraction of university costs. Students will gain hands-on experience in small classes with ground control stations, telemetry, and communications. Upon completion, students will be prepared to specialize in a rewarding drone technology career.

What You’ll Learn

  • Understand the fundamentals of drone operation: Apply the principles of flight and drone dynamics, including takeoff, landing, and safe operation, in various conditions and environments.
  • Prepare for the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate: Demonstrate the knowledge required to pass the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot exam, including regulations, airspace classification, weather effects, and emergency procedures.
  • Master aerial photography and videography: Utilize drones to capture high-quality imagery and video for various applications, including real estate, marketing, and environmental monitoring.
  • Design and construct drones: Gain hands-on experience in drone design, assembly, and troubleshooting, focusing on optimizing performance for specific applications.
  • Implement professional drone applications: Apply drone technology to real-world scenarios in agriculture, infrastructure inspection, land surveying, and environmental monitoring.
  • Operate ground control systems and telemetry: Understand the operation of ground control stations, data collection via telemetry, and communication systems for autonomous and semi-autonomous drone flights.
