With a bachelor’s degree in geosciences, you are almost guaranteed work – as there is a world-wide shortage of geologists. Earning EA’s associate degree is the smart way to start your educational path to becoming a geology professional. Our Associate of Science in Geology meets the requirements for the first two years of a four-year bachelor’s program at Arizona’s public, and many other, universities. You can transfer with junior status after building a strong academic foundation in small, stimulating classes taught by quality faculty and offered at an extremely affordable tuition cost. You are encouraged to work closely with an academic adviser and consult the official transfer guide to ensure you are on the correct course to maximize course transferability.
A Resource-Rich Learning Environment
At EA, your classroom extends to the unique living laboratory that surrounds our campus. The Gila Valley is rich with natural resources and our geology program makes the most of our extraordinary local geological environment. You’ll engage in field trips to mines, mountains, and volcanic areas to explore and learn. Our backdrop to the southwest is Mount Graham — part of the Pinaleno Range with five life zones supporting a variety of lush fauna and flora, some known only to this range. To the northeast you’ll find the 23,000-acre Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area. At our Discovery Park campus, you have access to award-winning restored wetlands, a ranarium built in cooperation with the US Fish & Wildlife Service, and so much more.
