Eastern Arizona College’s cosmetology programs provide opportunities for hairdressers, hairstylists, cosmetologists, and nail technicians! Ranging from basic haircutting and styling to the high-fashion worlds of modeling and entertainment. Entry-level positions are not hard to find, and once you work hard at building a reliable clientele, you can compete for competitive positions in prestigious salons with higher pay.

Our program provides students with an opportunity to apply cosmetology practices and principles in a simulated salon environment. Each cohort is taught and trained by attentive instructors who posses years of real world experience. Additionally, EA’s main Thatcher Campus is close by with delicious dining options and engaging student life activities.
You can earn an Associate of Applied Science or a certificate — both include the 1,500 hours of training necessary to take the Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board examination. Classes meet approximately eight hours a day, five days a week, with required Saturdays each month. It takes only 15 general education credits to complete the AAS degree.
Classes for the Cosmetology Instructor Certificate satisfy the 350 hours of training necessary to qualify for the state licensing exam.
The Nail Technician Certificate Program emphasizes basic nail care, manicuring, and hand and arm massage. It satisfies the 600 hours of training necessary to qualify for the state licensing exam.
Cosmetology refresher courses are also available if you need additional hours to qualify for the Arizona Barbering & Cosmetology Board exam, other state cosmetology boards, or if you want to enhance your skills.
