Title IX Training Materials and Resources

All members of Eastern Arizona College’s Title IX team (Title IX Coordinators, Investigators, Informal Resolution Facilitators and Advisors) receive annual trainings which include the following topics:

  1. the definition of sexual harassment,
  2. the scope of the College’s educational program or activity,
  3. how to conduct an investigation and grievance process including hearings, appeals, and informal resolution processes, as applicable, and
  4. how to serve impartially, including by avoiding prejudgment of the facts at issue, conflicts of interest, and bias.

The College utilizes outsourced Decision-makers, and those decision-makers will receive annual training on any technology to be used at a live hearing and on issues of relevance of questions and evidence, including when questions and evidence about the complainant’s sexual predisposition or prior sexual behavior are not relevant.

Investigators will receive annual training on issues of relevance to create an investigative report that fairly summarizes relevant evidence.

Any materials used to train Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution process, must not rely on sex stereotypes, and must promote impartial investigations and adjudications of formal complaints of sexual harassment.

The Title IX Regulations, 34 CFR Part 106.45(b)(10), require all Recipients to post training slides used to satisfy the Title IX Regulations’ training requirements to Eastern Arizona College’s website.
