IT Support Professional Certificate Now Available

The computer field is like no other. You can enter the field with many different levels of formal education, from a certificate to a bachelor's degree. You'll enjoy excellent job prospects, and computer skills will always be needed.

The EAC program is a great place to start. Our program has some of the most updated computer and technology labs in the state of Arizona. You can gain hands-on experience, and learn in our small, personalized classes. We offer four short certificate programs and an AAS degree program to give you knowledge and credentials to get a job quickly. Our Associate degree program gives you a foundation to major in Computer Science at a four-year university. I hope to see you soon!

Computer students

Eastern Arizona College is offering the Google IT Support Professional Certificate in two courses CMP-155 & CMP-156. This certification is an entry level certification providing knowledge and experience for entry level IT technician positions that pay on average $40,000+ yearly, and persons wanting to make themselves more attractive to potential employers where computers are used.

There are a total of 5 Google certificates students will gain while taking the courses. Once a student earns all of them she/he is awarded the Google IT Professional Certificate:

  1. Technical Support Fundamentals
  2. The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking
  3. Operating Systems and you: Becoming a Power User
  4. System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services
  5. IT Security: Defense Against the Dark Arts

Computer Information Specialist (AAS)
This is a comprehensive program that prepares you for a variety of computer related positions. It is for the student who is interested in software development and maintenance, software installation and maintenance, networking software installation and maintenance (the systems manager), system design, and computer operations.

Management Information Systems (ABus)
This degree prepares you to transfer to a college or university and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. Upon completion of a four-year program at a college or university, you will be prepared for employment as a:

Programming & IT Support Certificate
This certificate provides a fast track to employment by targeting specific computing skills with fewer general courses. The emphases in this certificate are the key areas in Programming and Information Technology Support. Students will learn programming concepts that will prepare them to work with multiple programming languages and use programing for IT automation. Students will be taught the basics of networking, system administration, and security and operating systems to prepare for a job in IT support.

Database Support (Certificate)
If you want to complete a faster track, emphasizing specific computer skills and fewer general courses, this certificate is for you. The emphases in this certificate are the three key areas in demand in the office environment at the technical support level including programming in database modes with networking skills for LAN environments.

This certificate program provides a fast track to employment by emphasizing specific computer skills and fewer general courses. Students will learn how to establish, organize, and maintain many of the small computer network systems in use today.
