THATCHER, AZ—The EAC Nursing and Allied Health Department is offering a five-week Nursing Assistant class online during its Summer Session II which begins July 3. This six-credit course, which prepares students for entry-level employment as nursing assistants in structured health care settings, can be completed online with an additional 60 clinical hours completed at Infinia Health Care in Safford and 20 hours of skills practice in the Nursing Lab at EAC. Students out of the area may schedule clinical hours at local health care facilities.

At the completion of the course, students may be eligible to sit for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) written and manual skills test. Successful completion of the NNAAP will lead to certification as a nursing assistant through the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
