Placement Evaluations and Assessments

We want to make sure you are successful in your courses. That’s why placement – putting you at the right level of coursework – is important. There are a few ways to ensure correct course placement at EAC:

    • Multiple Measures: To use multiple measures, EAC Testing Center staff determines course placement by evaluating your cumulative high school GPA as reflected on your high school transcript or using any ACT/SAT scores you may have. You must have completed at least two years of high school with a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA or taken the ACT/SAT exam within the last 5 years.
    • Placement Assessments: If you have been out of high school for more than 5 years or would like to use a placement assessment instead of high school transcripts or ACT/SAT scores, you can make an appointment using the link above or by contacting Testing Center staff. Although the assessments are not timed,  you should allow yourself approximately two to three hours for testing so that you won’t feel rushed or pressured. Assessments are in the subject areas of Reading, Writing, and Math and can be taken separately or all at the same time. There is no fee to take the placement test at the EAC Testing Center.

To discuss course placement and placement assessment options – including remote testing, please contact the Testing Center at (928) 428-8491 or testingcenter@eac.edu. You can also contact the Testing Center to request study guides and resources.

To request a copy of your placement scores, please fill out the following form and email it to testingcenter@eac.edu.

Certification Assessments

The EAC Testing Center offers a variety of certification exams from testing companies such as Pearson Vue and  MeazureLearning. Some of these exams are for certifications offered by National Evaluation System, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, American Medical Technologists, CompTIA, Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, and many more. These exams are offered every Tuesday starting at noon.

Registering, scheduling, and payment for certification exams must be completed via the Pearson Vue or MeazureLearning websites.

GED Testing

The GED test is available to all persons who do not have a high school diploma and are interested in earning a High School Equivalency (HSE) Diploma in Arizona. The GED test is made up of four subjects – Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathmatical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies – each with its own exam. Passing the four GED tests along with the AZ Civics Test is one way a High School Equivalency can be earned. Tests can be spaced out and you can work on them at your own pace.

Scheduling to Test

    • Register by creating your test-taker profile at the MyGED® website.
    • Once you’re logged into your profile, you will be able to find the most up to date GED® testing location near you by clicking on the Where to Test tab. This is where you can choose the EAC Testing Center as your testing location. All exam scheduling must go through the MyGED® website; we are not able to schedule your exam.

Additional requirements for 16- and 17-year-old individuals must be completed before being allowed to schedule the high school equivalency required tests:

    1. Must create a test-taker profile under their full legal name.
    2. Must present the two documents listed below and a current government-issued ID to any Authorized Testing Location (EAC Testing Center).
          • Official withdrawal from the last school attended.
          • Notarized and dated permission letter from a parent or guardian.

More information on the GED can be found at the Arizona Department of Education’s Adult Education website or the Official GED® Test website.

Proctored Exams for Other Institutions

The EAC Testing Center proctors both paper/pencil and computerized exams for students attending other colleges and universities who wish to complete their exams in our facility. We also proctor certification or employment exams. Proctored exams for other institutions are by appointment only and require a fee of $28.50 if you are not an EAC student.
