THATCHER, Ariz. — Eastern Arizona College’s (EAC) tax levy proposal includes a lower tax rate for the 2025 budget year, which will be considered by the Graham County Community College District Governing Board (Governing Board).
The proposal would drop the rate from $2.60 to $2.46, representing a 14-cent reduction from last year’s rate. Because the reduced rate will include a 2% levy increase and generate additional funds, statutory language refers to this as a tax increase, when in fact it will result in a tax rate reduction. Consequently, we are required to inform the community in the following manner:
The Truth in Taxation Notice will be posted in the Eastern Arizona Courier on May 29 and will be posted again on June 5. For more information about EAC’s proposed 2024-2025 budget please click here.
The public is invited to send comments on EAC’s recommended tax rate reduction to board@eac.edu. Members of the public can also provide comments at the Governing Board meeting on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 1 p.m., at the Eastern Arizona College Student Services Building, Governing Board Room, 615 N. Stadium Ave., Thatcher, Ariz.
