CHORAL AUDITIONS

A CAPPELLA CHOIR:
August 17-18 & 21-22, 2023  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Choir Room (FA-111)

Come prepared to sing a selection of serious music such as an art song, folk song, or hymn setting. Do not select a popular song for your main audition piece. Choose a song that will show off your voice at its best. Selections will be sung with NO accompaniment. In addition to your song, the director will check your range, have you sight read a short line of music (on par with the Arizona All-State audition), and run a tonal memory exercise.

ENCORE:
August 17-18 from 1p.m. to 3 p.m.
August 21-22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. & 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Choir Room (FA-111)

Come prepared to sing two contrasting contemporary solos. Please keep them under one minute each- do not sing the entire song. Make a selection that will show off your voice at its best. Solos will be sung with NO accompaniment. In addition to your song, the director will check your range, have you sight read a short line of music (on par with the Arizona All-State audition), and run a tonal memory exercise. Depending on the initial results, callbacks may be held to determine the best ensemble grouping.
