COVID-19

Thanks to your diligence throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, EAC remained a safe place to work hard and achieve your educational dreams. Here’s how we will keep our campuses safe during the fall 2021 semester.

In coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and state and local health departments, EAC has developed the following measures for the fall 2021 semester:

Vaccines : EAC strongly urges members of its campus community to be vaccinated. Vaccines will be offered at Thatcher Campus from 1 - 2 p.m. on Thursdays in the Residence Towers. For appointments or more information, contact candee.skousen@eac.edu or (928) 428-8354.

Masks : If you are unvaccinated, we ask that you please wear a mask correctly. If you are fully vaccinated, to maximize protection against the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, please wear a mask if you cannot socially distance.

Group Settings : If you cannot socially distance, please meet virtually when possible.

Outdoor Settings : In general, you do not need to wear a mask in outdoor settings. In areas with high numbers of COVID-19 cases, consider wearing a mask in crowded outdoor settings and for activities with close contact to others who are not fully vaccinated.

Hygiene : Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

Disinfecting : Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces can reduce the risk of infection. Please continue to keep workspaces clean and disinfected.

Regular Self-Screening : Please regularly self-monitor for any symptoms related to COVID-19, no matter how minor.
Visit CDC Coronavirus Self-Checker

Capacity : Room capacity will be limited to 75% to encourage social distancing.

Stay home if you’re sick.
Employees, it is your responsibility to take care of yourself. Students, reach out immediately to your faculty to let them know you’re sick, you can’t come to class, and ask what you need to do to keep up on your assignments.

Events : Campus events may be planned and scheduled according to these health and safety policies.

Testing : Testing will be offered at Thatcher Campus from 1 - 2 p.m. on Thursdays in the Residence Towers. For appointments or more information, contact candee.skousen@eac.edu or (928) 428-8354.

Clinical Instruction: EAC collaborates with various healthcare institutions to provide clinical instruction to our students. These are formal, regulated partnerships which take a significant amount of time and resources to implement. Each institution has their own policies and procedures that students must adhere to. Most of our partner institutions have enacted requirements that students at least begin the vaccination against COVID-19 to participate in clinical classes. The students affected by this have been notified. We are providing the opportunity for any student who chooses not to be vaccinated as required by the healthcare institution to be withdrawn from classes this semester and receive a full refund of tuition and fees. Additionally, we will hold their admittance position, allowing them to return to the nursing program. Details will be provided to the students.

We will continually monitor state and local guidance related to COVID-19 and will update these measures as appropriate.
