THATCHER, AZ—Do you have a “moonshot” idea or an existing business you’d like to expand? Even just a product or business idea you’ve scribbled down on a napkin? If you answered YES, please join Eastern Arizona College’s Small Business Development Center (EAC SBDC) for the Graham/Greenlee County AZ Pioneer Pitch competition for entrepreneurs (aka, a showcase like you see on ABC’s Shark Tank). Participation in this June 22-23, event is FREE!
Entrants will be competing to win cash prizes, scholarships, and more. In addition, participants will get feedback from top industry experts and exposure for their business or product and meet other risk-taking entrepreneurs in the area.
The first-place winner will receive $1500, six months free business internet service
through Valley Telecom, a
three-day, QuickBooks Online course through EAC SBDC, and will go on to compete in the state-wide finals competition for a $10,000 cash prize. The event, which also honors successful Moonshot entrepreneurs,
will be held in Flagstaff in July 2023.
The second-place winner will receive $1000 and the third-place winner will receive $500.
To apply, candidates must submit an online application at www.azpioneerpitch.org/apply-here.html. Applicants will need to explain their start-up idea, what they feel their unique selling proposition is, and why their product is better than what is already on the market.
Registered Graham/Greenlee Pioneer Pitch participants will need to attend FREE workshops for assistance in preparing and perfecting their five-minute pitch presentation that will be delivered at the Moonshot Pioneer Pitch on June 23. Workshops will be held on June 14 and June 21, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Thatcher Campus in the Academic Programs Building, Room #111. Participants may come to one or both workshops. The more prepared you are, the better your chances! After applying for the pitch competition, please visit https://tinyurl.com/bdvfzhyb to register. If you have questions about the competition, contact Eric Bejarano, EAC SBDC director, at (928) 428-8590.
