Work Study

Eastern Arizona College currently administers two student employment programs:
    • Federal Work Study (FWS) which is funded by the Federal government
    • Institutional Work Study (IWS) which is funded by EAC

The purpose of these work study programs are to assist students who have a demonstrated financial need  by providing them a way to earn income that would contribute financially towards their college education;  and to assist the college in performing duties that do not require full-time employees.

Work Study is treated as any other job, but it does have some slight differences:

    • Employers schedule work study around your class schedule
    • Most positions are located on-campus, however there are some off-campus community jobs
    • The money earned from work study is not counted towards your next year’s contribution for financial aid
    • You do not need to have specific skills to get a work study job
    • Work study job experience provides usable job skills and beneficial work habits

As a work-study job applicant, you are applying for a real job that will teach you valuable work skills.
