Physics

What is Physics?

Physics is the exploration and identification of basic principles and laws that govern the motion, energy, structure, and interactions of matter. Some physicists study theoretical areas, such as the nature of time and the origin of the universe. Others apply their knowledge to practical areas, like the development of advanced materials, electronic and optical devices, and medical equipment. To become a physicist, you’ll need at least a master’s degree.

Physics Program at EAC

EAC is a smart place to start your academic path as our Associate of Science in Physics meets the requirements for the first two years of a four-year bachelor’s program at Arizona’s public, and many other, universities. You can transfer with junior status after building a strong academic foundation to study physics, chemistry, mathematics, and related fields. At EAC, you’ll experience high-quality laboratory work on state-of-the-art equipment — including motion sensors, sound sensors, and more — to perform data acquisition using computers. Small, stimulating classes are taught by quality faculty and offered at an extremely affordable tuition cost. You should enter this program having completed two years of algebra and one year each of chemistry and physics in high school or the equivalent college courses. And, you are encouraged to work closely with an academic adviser and consult the official transfer guide to ensure you are on the correct course to maximize course transferability.

My classes are interesting because the instructor doesn't just use textbook notes. He tells stories that give a real-world look into the field and how our knowledge can be applied.
