Student Experience

In as little as five months, students can develop the skills necessary to install, service, and repair HVAC-R systems. EAC’s HVAC-R program offers students a hands-on learning experience. Students can learn code requirements, electrical applications, proper refrigerant-handling procedures, system design, HVAC-R component operation, and the soft skills employers are looking for in their workforce.

The HVAC-R Certificate of Proficiency prepares students to sit for the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and ESCO (Energy Service Company) Section 608 certifications.

Average Salaries:

With many of those in the HVAC-R field retiring and more energy-efficient units installed in commercial and residential construction, more jobs are becoming readily available.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a projected growth of 5% between 2020 and 2030*.

HVAC-R Program Options

HVAC-R (Cert)

This program is designed to prepare students to work in a heating or refrigeration business. The HVAC-R program includes basic instruction in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and their maintenance to help students develop a career in the HVAC-R field.

Advanced HVAC-R Technology (Cert)

This program is designed to prepare students to work in the commercial refrigeration field. The advanced HVAC-R certificate includes advanced instruction in commercial air conditioning, heat exchange, flow devices, and troubleshooting in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning.
