Holds 50 Year Reunion

Members
of the Class of 1949 reunited after 50 years on May 7, 1999, to renew
friendships, remember the good times at our college and let each other
know what they've been up to.
Class
members and their guest began the reunion at the Layton House-Ruby I.
Stinson Alumni Center. They toured the campus to see the changes that have
occurred since they attended Gila Junior College. At a luncheon in their
honor EAC Alumni Association President Bill Reed and EAC, President
Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. greeted the class and thanked them for their support
of the college. President
Hoopes read part of an article written by the 1949 Student Body President
Jack Love. It mentioned the
same things we mention today about our college. Eastern is a great place to get a solid education with instructors
who care in a school that is not too large for individuals to shine.
That
evening, class members attended the annual Alumni Banquet at the EAC
Activities Center. The Class of 1949 was honored for their loyalty and
interest in Eastern Arizona College and the Class of 1999 was welcomed
into the Alumni Association. The reunion participants were then recognized
as they attended the EAC Commencement Exercises held in the Guitteau
Gymnasium to complete the day's events.
Thanks
for your part in the history of our College, Class of 1949!
