Thatcher-AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s annual Band Day, which will feature 18 marching bands from high schools all over the state, will be held on October 14. The event is free to the public and performances begin at 8:24 a.m. sharp at EAC’s John Mickelson Stadium.

Performances will follow every twelve minutes with performances by EAC’s Marching Band, Colorguard, and Monster Band Dancers, with a tribute to Stevie Wonder, at 11:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Bands will be evaluated by a panel of authorities who will offer taped comments with suggestions for improvement. Groups receiving excellent (II) or superior (I) ratings by the adjudicators will qualify for the Division IV State Marching Band Festival.

“The goal of this contest is to provide positive incentive for all schools and to encourage students to watch and learn as different bands are presented in a positive light,” said EAC Director of Bands Clay Redfield. “Additionally, it gives students from all over the state the opportunity to see our campus and our band program,” he concluded.

The public is invited to attend this event and see a variety of talent in marching bands.
