Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Welding Department will offer Welding 101 (section #6033) during the first session of the summer term, beginning on May 29 and running through June 29. Taught by EAC Instructors Tad Dryden and Vance Myers, the class will meet Monday through Thursday from 5:30-9 p.m. on the College’s Thatcher Campus.

This course teaches principles of arc and oxy-acetylene welding, flame cutting, and brazing, with emphasis on mastering basic welding techniques. It has been designed for students pursuing the Welding Technology Certificate, or current welders updating their skills. The course also supports automotive and drafting curricula and community interest students who would like to improve their skills and learn more about welding procedures.

“There is a shortage of skilled tradesmen and women willing to do the basic jobs needed to sustain our country,” says Dryden. “Be someone that makes a difference!”

Students wishing to enroll in Welding 101 may call EAC’s Records and Registration Office at 428-8270, or may register online at www.eac.edu. Regular tuition fees apply for this course along with a $20 lab fee.
