Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Art Department will offer ceramics classes this summer with new instructor and ceramics shop owner, Sandi Hastings.

Classes will be offered during both five-week summer sessions, and as ten-week, summer-long classes. The Summer Session I classes, which begin on May 29, and run through June 29, will include Beginning and Intermediate Ceramics, (sections # 6800, 6801 and 6802, 6803). Both classes will meet from 1-3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The summer-long classes will begin May 29, and run through August 8, and also include Beginning and Intermediate Ceramics, (sections # 7836, 7837 and 7838, 7839). These classes will meet only once per week, on Tuesdays, from 1-3:30 p.m.

Summer Session II classes will begin July 2, and run through August 8, and also include Beginning and Intermediate Ceramics, (sections # 7996, 7997 and 7998, 7999) will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3:30 p.m..

All of the classes will meet off campus, at J.D.’s Ceramics, in Safford (formerly Sage Ceramics). The courses cover a wide range of techniques, such as dry brushing, chalking, and glazing.

“The best way to describe the uniqueness of my class is that it is as unique as each individual who takes it,” Hastings explains. “Each person can express their own style and personality through their work.”

Students wishing to enroll in Ceramics may call EAC’s Records and Registration Office at 428-8270, or may register online at www.eac.edu. Regular tuition fees apply for this course.
