Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s English Department is delighted to have author Kevin Holdsworth on campus for a free workshop and reading on Thursday, April 5, 2012. The workshop will be held at 3 p.m. in AP-269 and the reading will be held that evening at 7 p.m. in the Gila/Galiuro Room. The public is invited to attend both events.

Holdsworth will be reading from his book, Big Wonderful: Notes from Wyoming. Raised in Utah, Holdsworth always dreamed of moving away. After moving to the East Coast, however, he found himself writing westerns and thinking of nothing but the mountains he’d once skied and hiked. Fed up with city life, he moved to a small Wyoming town.

Big Wonderful portrays life in remote, unpredictable country and what it takes to raise a family in such a merciless environment.

“Kevin Holdsworth’s work is thoughtful and passionate,” says EAC English instructor and series coordinator Ken Raines. “Both his concern for family and his joy in the outdoors are subjects that will resonate with those who live in Gila Valley.”

This free event is open to the public. For more information contact Raines at 928-428-8218.
