By Lexi Heninger
Thatcher, AZ—Discovery Park Campus welcomes back Bonnie Briscoe with an all new installment of her Old Photographs Information Series entitled, Organizing and Preserving Old Photographs, on Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Jupiter Room at EAC’s Discovery Park Campus.
This presentation is designed to help individuals retrieve old family photographs and properly identify and preserve them for future generations. Through a PowerPoint presentation, Briscoe will show some helpful archival techniques. Some of the techniques will include ways to handle photographs, correct methods for storage, how to identify people in photos without damaging them, and ways to organize numerous stacks of photos. Briscoe’s presentation will provide a greater awareness of things to do and what not to do for the sake of preservation. Detailed hand-outs will be provided along with a display of available resource books on preservation, old photographs, cameras, acid-free storage containers, and other useful tools for preserving old photographs.
“Come and enjoy Bonnie’s enthusiasm as she shares this fun presentation on identifying and caring for those valuable picture treasures from generations past,” says Discovery Park Campus Director, Paul Anger. “Bonnie has a special talent not only working with old photographs, but also in sharing her passion for archive preservation and restoration, and all with friendship and a smile.”
