EAC Choirs to host musical group Eclipse
By Lori Dugan
Thatcher, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s choirs will present the musical group, Eclipse, on Friday, January 20, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in the College’s Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is just $5 per person, and the show is suitable for audiences of all ages.
“Eclipse is one of the top professional male a cappella groups in America. They have been performing together since 1999,” said Dr. Bruce Bishop, EAC’s director of choirs. “Their signature sound features tight harmonies, driving percussion, and infectious energy - all produced using just one instrument - the human voice.”
They were featured in the Opening and the Closing Ceremonies for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. Other performances have included concerts with Brooks & Dunn, Nelly Furtado, Toby Keith, John Schmide, Peter Breinhoft, Kurt Bestor, and Train.
They have been named “Best Vocal Group” in the Utah Best of State awards and the 2003 “Group Recording Artist of the Year,” in the Faith Centered Music Association’s Pearl Awards.
In 2011, Eclipse released their most recent album, and second Christmas album, “It’s Christmas Time.”
Admission for the performance is $5/person. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling EAC’s Ticket Office at (928)-428-8228.
