Thatcher, AZ—EAC graphic design student, Anais Bon, was chosen to design the logo for the new “JD’s Grill House,” in Safford, on the corner of Highway 70 and 20th Avenue.
Bon, of Casa Grande, came to Eastern Arizona College in August of 2010 on a Pell grant and has since earned an art scholarship. She plans to get her associate of applied science degree in graphic design before transferring to ASU to continue her education in design. She hopes to one day work for a magazine designing ads and cover spreads. “In high school, I took darkroom and digital photography,” says Bon. “This sparked my interest in graphic design, and playing around so much in Adobe Photoshop has now paid off!”
Tom Cicchelli, EAC graphic design instructor, recommended Bon for the job. “I appreciate Mr. Cicchelli and his recommendation. I have always been passionate about design and am very grateful to have gotten an opportunity like this. Before EAC, I didn’t know much about graphic design, but Mr. Cicchelli has helped me improve and learn so much.”
To those trying to decide what to do, Bon suggests, “Always do what you want. If you feel called to do something, believe in yourself enough to try! I’d rather be doing what I love and barely surviving, than doing something I don’t and thriving.”
