Thatcher, AZ—EAC is partnering with the Graham County Cooperative Extension to offer a short-term class, Water and Watersheds (AGR240, section #5706), for the Fall 2011 semester. The class will be held from September 1 through November 5, 2011, on Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m. at the EAC Discovery Park campus, with several field trips held on Saturdays.

“The Upper Gila Watershed is intriguing with its many natural resources, uses and issues. The class experience exposes students to this through a variety of instructors and field trips, students also participate in a class project,” says Bill Brandau, instructor for the course. “Through this experience students can gain a greater understanding and appreciation for our watershed, where our water comes from and how we use it. They learn about the local weather and climate, hydrology, geology, soils, water, wildlife and the many uses in the watershed and how they interact. Students get to see some interesting and beautiful country on the field trips.”
