THATCHER, AZ—Last year’s Eastern Arizona College Physics Student of the Year, Tye Beus, was awarded a coveted 10-week internship to the University of California at Berkeley that he is completing over the summer. The internship, worth $5000 plus expenses, has Beus working with national-level scientists.

“Tye is an exceptional student with exceptional abilities,” says EAC physics instructor, Madhuri Bapat. “He has great math and thinking skills; and he built two stage rockets in our rocketry classes that were flawless.”

Beus plans to attend BYU for his undergraduate studies and would like to attend an Ivy League school for his graduate work.
