GED and CLEP testing fees increasing for 2010

By Jeanné Schaser

THATCHER, AZ—Effective April 15, 2010, the Arizona Department of Education is increasing the administrative fee required to take the GED to $20, bringing the total cost to take the GED at Eastern Arizona College to $70 ($20 administration fee plus $50 EAC fee.)

In addition, effective July 1, 2010, the CLEP exam fee is increasing to $77. This will bring the total cost to take the CLEP to $92 ($77 administration fee plus $15 EAC fee.)

“Both of these rate increases are coming from outside entities,” says Jerri Lukens, evaluation technician at EAC. “The College’s portion of the fees has not increased.”

For more information or to register to take either test, call Lukens at (928) 428-8491, or toll free: (800) 678-3808 ext. 8491. GED preparation classes are offered at the EAC Discovery Park campus; call (928) 428-6260 for more information.
