THATCHER, AZ— Eastern Arizona College’s Discovery Park Campus Lecture Series will conclude the semester with “Rockhounding and Baroque Jewelry Making” in the Circle D Barn at Discovery Park Campus at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009. At the event, Harry Swanson, dean of Discovery Park Campus, will provide how-to advice on the use of a rock tumbler to polish stones collected locally, as well as show each visitor how to make their own baroque jewelry.

“Just in time for Christmas, the participants will each make and keep a piece of baroque jewelry from kits that I have put together,” says Swanson. “This might be a bit challenging for those with less-than-perfect eyesight, but we’ll work around that, and it should be great fun for everyone!”
