EAC Symphony Orchestra presents “Around the World: A Musical Voyage”

THATCHER, AZ— Eastern Arizona College’s Symphony Orchestra will present their fall concert, “Around the World: A Musical Voyage,” on November 14, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center–Lee Little Theater and will be conducted by EAC’s orchestra director, Franklin Alvarez. Admission is free.

“The program features music from composers from all over the globe,” says Alvarez, “from German, Mexican, Welsh and American. It’s sure to be an exciting concert.” The orchestra will perform a variety of pieces, including Rossini’s “The Thieving Magpie – Overture,” Lecuona’s “Andalucia Suite,” Beethoven’s “Fidelio Overture,” Rodriguez’s “La Comparsita (Tango),” Creston’s “Night in Mexico from Airborne Suite,” Offenbach’s Ballet Parisean,” Gould’s “American Salute,” Williams’ “Rhosymedre – Prelude on a Welsh Hymn Tune,” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 5 in E minor.”
