THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Fine Arts Division will present four performances of the musical “The Emperor’s New Clothes” this week, starting on Thursday and Friday, October 22 and 23, at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Saturday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m. and closing with a show on Monday, October 26, at 7:30 p.m. All shows will perform in the Lee Little Theatre in the EAC Activities Center.
The musical, which will be directed by Trish Jordahl and Delia Mattice, is based on the classic story first penned by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. In the original tale, an arrogant emperor falls victim to two swindlers who promise him the finest set of clothes, with hilarious results.
“This is sure to be an engaging production that all ages will enjoy,” says Jordahl.
Admission price for “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is $5/adult and $3/child. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling EAC’s Ticket Office at 428-8228.
