EAC Administrative Information Services Department to offer Summer I classes

These classes, all of which will be taught by instructor Tammy Campbell, are designed to teach essential skills needed in the office, such as keyboarding, word processing, and other office procedures.

THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Administrative Information Services (AIS) Department is offering a variety of classes for the Summer I semester, which begins May 26. These classes, all of which will be taught by instructor Tammy Campbell, are designed to teach essential skills needed in the office, such as keyboarding, word processing, and other office procedures.

The first of these classes, Introduction to Keyboarding Technique, will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1 to 2:40 p.m. in South Campus Classroom #4. “Students can register for either of the two sections that are offered (AIS 108, section #6000, or CMP 108, section #6001), but both sections will meet for the same class period,” says Campbell. “In this class, students will learn the keyboard and proper keyboarding technique, as well as how to achieve an acceptable typing speed.”

Campbell will also be teach two online AIS classes, Word Processing Applications (AIS 237, section #7198) and The Office Professional (AIS 214, section #7199). “These classes will begin at the start of the Summer I semester and extend through July 31,” explains Campbell. “In Word Processing Applications, students learn beginning to advanced skills in Microsoft Word 2007, including creating résumés, mailing labels, professional newsletters, and online forms. The Office Professional covers the application of office procedures, skills, and responsibilities, including working as a team member, leading and supervising others, and preparing travel, meeting, and financial documents.”
