EAC and Desert Sky Gazers present “Stellar Groups” with John Chiravalle

THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s Discovery Park Campus, in partnership with The Desert Sky Gazers amateur astronomy club, will present a free, family-friendly lecture and slideshow entitled “Stellar Groups,” on March 28, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. in the Jupiter Room of Discovery Park Campus. The hour-long event will feature speaker John Chiravalle as he presents a lecture on stellar patterns in the sky.

Chiravalle is an astronomy docent for Discovery Park Campus as well as an avid astronomer, an astrophotographer, and a published author of astronomy texts.

“John is one of those truly generous and remarkable astronomers who know how to make the complexities of the sky come to life in understandable ways,” says Harry Swanson, dean of Discovery Park Campus. “He is an especially adept teacher of young minds, and his talks are always inspiring and informative. Be sure not to miss this lecture, and bring your kids!”
