EAC’s Fall Sing presents We Rise
By Jeanné Clark
THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s 29th annual Fall Sing is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, October 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. and a Saturday, October 25, matinee at 2 p.m. The concert, entitled We Rise, will take center stage at EAC’s Fine Arts Auditorium and will include performances by EAC’s talented choir groups, including EACompany, The Six\Four, Women’s Chorale, Men’s Chorus, The Guys, Women’s Quartet, A Cappella Choir, and the Combined Choirs.
The production will open with America Today, arranged by Bruce Bishop, and then the Eastern Arizona College Alma Mater, arranged by Dr. David Lunt.
“The public will love the program we’ve prepared,” says EAC Choir Director Bruce Bishop. “We’ll be singing a variety of songs, from Polly Wolly Doodle to It’s Raining Men.”
Also on the program for the evening are several traditional spiritual songs, including Rise Up! O Men of God, Heaven’s Eyes, and Behold the Wounds in Jesus’ Hands. The choirs will also be performing several numbers from show-tune favorites, such as I’m Going to Wash that Man and Safe, Sane, and Single. In addition, they’ll be singing several popular favorites, from Love’s Got a Hold On You, first recorded by Alan Jackson, to The Pink Panther theme song, all arranged in Bishop’s fresh performance style.
The program will close with a performance of Rise Again, arranged by Bruce Bishop, followed by a reprise of America Today.
Admission for the performance is $5/person. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling EAC’s Ticket Office at 428-8228.
