By Lori Dugan
THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College’s English Department has added four more heavy-hitting classes to its summer offerings that are targeted to students ranging the gamut of skill levels.
ENG055, Basic Writing Skills, is a developmental course designed to guide incoming college students who struggle with English up to the college level. The class also prepares them for ENG 100, Writing Fundamentals, where students gain practice in reading and writing sentences and paragraphs.
Both ENG055 and ENG100 are being offered this summer from May 27-June 27 with instructor Lanella Miller. The classes, along with their matching labs, will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-1:40 p.m. in the Academic Programs Building, room #111. Students wishing to enroll in ENG055 should register for section #6045 and section #6045, while ENG100 students will want sections #6048 and #6047.
For more advanced students, instructor Owen Jordahl will offer ENG101, Written Communications I, from June 2-July 3. Students interested in this 8-10 a.m., Monday through Thursday, late-start course should register for section #6049.
Jordahl is also offering ENG102, Written Communications II, section #6050. It also meets from June 2-July 3 in the Academic Programs Building, room #111. The class will meet from 10 a.m. until Noon, Monday through Thursday. Students interested in this late-start ENG102 class should register for section #6050.
