THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College and Freeport-McMoRan will host the 4th annual Engineering Day on Friday, April 11, beginning at 8:30 a.m., in the College’s Activities Center. All area high school students are invited to attend the day-long event which will be filled with individual and team competitions as well as demonstrations and lectures from experts in the field of engineering.
“The events are very competitive!” said Dr. Jack Bailey, EAC’s engineering instructor. “This is an opportunity to learn about the field of engineering while representing your high school in team and individual contests. We welcome all students and especially those with science, math, and hands-on skills.”
Students will participate in engineering activities and ingenuity contests with points given for each contest. Awards will be given to the individuals and teams with the most cumulative points.
Any high school student who is interested in participating, or who would like more information, should contact Bailey by e-mail or phone at firstname.lastname@example.org or (928) 428-8226. Registration is free and lunch will be served.
