Fall Children’s Theatre auditions announced

By Lori Dugan

THATCHER, AZ—Auditions for Eastern Arizona College’s Children’s Theatre will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 18 and 19, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. - Lee Little Theatre at Eastern Arizona College. These youngest EAC theatre students will be performing The Adventures of Mr. Toad in April.

“This musical is adapted from Kenneth Grahame’s children’s story, The Wind in the Willows,” said the play’s director, Penny Whetten. “Under the surface of a charming story with its lovable characters and its long-vacation atmosphere, there is subtle encouragement in kindness, patience, industry, and loyalty. The story captures the meaning of true friendship.”

Anyone between the ages of four and 10 are encouraged to audition. Students should come to audition with a prepared song to sing and will need to provide their own accompaniment or sing a cappella. A piano will be available. Everyone who auditions will receive a part. There is a $15 fee for all participants.

Whetten encourages all interested students to come and audition. For more information about the musical contact Whetten at 428-7922.
