THATCHER, AZ—With the retirement of 16-year veteran quilting instructor, Florene Shurtz, Eastern Arizona College’s quilting classes changed to include several new sections, a new instructor, and additional sections for some existing instructors.

Diane Allred now teaches two quilting classes: a 1-5 p.m. Monday afternoon class (section #0508) and an 8 a.m.-Noon Wednesday class (section #1404). Both sections are taught at the Family and Consumer Resources Building (FCRB) on the Thatcher Campus.

Ann Stegen teaches one of her quilting classes at the Senior Citizen Center on Tuesday afternoons from 1-4:20 p.m. (section #5645) and another section at the FCRB on Tuesday evenings from 5-9 p.m (section #1403).

Becky Post offers quilting classes on Tuesday (section #1407), Wednesday (section #1405) and Thursday (section #1406) from 1-5 p.m. also at the FCRB.

Bunny Humphrey offers a quilting class at Pima High School on Wednesday evenings from 6-9:45 p.m. (section #5326).

Rita Standage offers a morning class at Creative Pursuits on Main Street in Safford on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m. (section #5644).

Seating is limited in all of EAC’s quilting sections and the classes are filling up fast. So early registration is strongly encouraged. EAC Fall 2007 class registration can be accomplished by any of the following three ways:

• Register by phone with a registration operator by calling 428-8270, or 800-678-3808 Ext. 8270, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

• Register online using Gila Hank Online, EAC’s web-based registration system, accessible at www.eac.edu.

• Register in person at EAC’s Records and Registration Office in the College’s Student Services Building in Thatcher weekdays, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

EAC’s Fall 2007 Class Schedule is available for pickup at the Records and Registration Office or may be accessed at EAC’s website, www.eac.edu.

Tuition for the Fall 2007 semester will be $55 for the first credit hour, and only $110 total for two to six credits, for Arizona residents. Senior Citizen Scholarships are available for persons 55 years of age and older that cover the entire cost of in-state tuition.

Students with questions about registration should call EAC’s Records and Registration Office at 428-8270.
