EAC's Discovery Park Campus to begin anthropology lecture series

THATCHER, AZ—EAC’s Discovery Park Campus, located at 1651 W. Discovery Park Blvd. in Safford, will begin a comprehensive series of free Southwest anthropology slide show lectures entitled Discover Anthropology.

The lectures will take place every other Saturday, beginning August 4 at 6:30 p.m. Anticipated titles include, Who Were the Anasazi, Wild Subsistence Foods of Early Native Americans, and Eskimos, Aleuts, and Indians: Artic and Sub-Artic Peoples.

The inaugural lecture, entitled Earth Figures of the Lower Colorado River, will be presented by Harry Swanson, Ph.D., the new Dean of Discovery Park Campus and a noted lecturer on Southwest Native American cultures. The lecture will discuss the gigantic, prehistoric geoglyphs found in the American Southwest, such as the Blythe Intaglios near Blythe, California. For more information, call 428-6260.
