EAC and Phelps Dodge to hold an open house for Occupational Training Programs

THATCHER, AZ—Eastern Arizona College and Phelps Dodge Mining Company invite prospective and interested students to attend a free open house for their joint training programs on Tuesday, July 17 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Occupational Training Center at 3250 West Highway 70 in Thatcher.
The open house will include an overview of the three training programs, information about the application process, scholarships, and the paid internship, and a tour of the Occupational Training Center.
The program began in 2006 as a partnership between the Phelps Dodge Mining Company and EAC. The certificate programs are designed to train entry-level technicians in several different mine-related skills:
Industrial Plant Technician
Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
The program also offers scholarships to students accepted into one of the three certificates to cover the full-time tuition and program fees at the College.
