Thatcher, AZ— The Associated Students of Eastern Arizona College (ASEAC) has been working on a Domestic and Sexual Violence Prevention Program, funded by a grant from the AZ Department of Health Services. It is a one-semester program to promote educating and encouraging individual understanding of sexual violence awareness and safety strategies, as well as providing activities and events that will be planned with the goal of fostering healthy relationship development and bystander intervention.

In support of these efforts, ASEAC is sponsoring a play entitled, Intrusion. The free presentation is scheduled for Monday Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m., in the Activities Center ? Lee Little Theatre.

About the Play: 20 years in the future, sexual violence has been eradicated. Until one woman comes forward and, by exposing different sectors of society, provides a look into how society perpetuates rape culture.

Award-Winning actress Qurrat Ann Kadwani plays eight characters in one hour to demonstrate the power dynamics, sexual violence statistics, Title IX history, self-defense moves, and the complexity of sexual violence against women. Politics, media, the legal system, psychology, education, male and female sexual assault, LGBTQ inclusivity come together to unfold the intricacy of rape culture.

This is a college-level, educational play that is not suitable for younger audiences.

Admission is free and tickets are available at the Ticket Office and at the door.
