THATCHER, AZ—“Generations of Women Moving History Forward” is the theme for Women’s History Month 2007. March has been designated as Women’s History Month since 1987, ensuring that the history of American women will be recognized and celebrated in schools, workplaces, and communities throughout the country.

On Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 5 pm in the TV Room of Eastern Arizona College’s Gherald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center, the Associated Students of EAC will recognize women in a focused discussion open to the public. The topic is “Women’s Health Issues” and will be presented in an open forum with a panel of guest speakers. The purpose of this discussion is to encompass many of the issues women face today, whether it is health specific or pertaining to working in the Health or Medical field.

The wisdom and tenacity of prior and future generations of women are recognized as a reflection of generations working together. Honoring women of our community confirms the idea that all individuals working together can be effective in building a better and more compassionate world. The knowledge of women’s past and present provides a more expansive vision of what a woman can do. This perspective can encourage girls and women to think larger and bolder and gives a better understanding of the female experience.
